Sandra Marie Santayana wurde in Regensburg (Bayern) geboren. Sie wuchs in Schwandorf auf, wo sie auch ans dortige Gymnasium ging. Schon früh entdeckte sie ihre Leidenschaft und ihr Talent für die Kunst und die Literatur und gewann bereits als Schülerin verschiedene Preise für ihre Arbeiten.

1999 beschloß sie, ihr abgesichertes, vorprogrammiertes Leben in Deutschland aufzugeben und nach Spanien zu ziehen, um sich dort vollkommen der Kunst und der Literatur zu widmen. Dort verfaßte sie zwei Romane, von denen einer im Gardeur Verlag erschienen ist: "Frida - Beziehungskisten und andere Komplikationen", ISBN 3-935852-18-5.

Im Herbst 2000 weihte sie in Rom im Centro Culturale Europeo die erste Ausstellung ihrer Gemälde ein, "Ego", welche zu einem großen Erfolg wurde. Selbst die Zeitung "Il Corriere della Sera" schrieb über sie als "den neuen Stern am Kunsthimmel". Den Kunstliebhabern gefiel vor allem die Tatsache, daß sich in 6 ihrer Collagen ein Pinsel des genialen Salvador Dalí befand, und die Kunstkritiker lobten ihren renovativen, eigenwilligen Stil.

Im Abstand von nur kurzer Zeit folgten daraufhin die Ausstellungen "Reflections" (Centro Cultural Ebusus, Ibiza 2001), "Vibrations" (Mo-Bar, Ibiza, 2002) und "Paintings in Love" (Centro Cultural Ebusus, Ibiza, 2003). Außerdem nahm sie an verschiedenen Kollektiv-Ausstellungen teil, wie z.B. der portugiesischen Kunstmesse "Portoarte" (2003). Zwei weitere Ausstellungen fanden in Deutschland statt: Im August 2004 weihte Santayana in Nittenau, in der eleganten Kurklinik "Klinik am Regenbogen", mit großem Erfolg die Vernissage "Out of the Dark" ein; am 25. Februar 2005 begann die zweimonatige Ausstellung "Kaleidoscope" in der Kunstgalerie ihrer Heimatstadt Schwandorf.

Zu Santayanas Kunstsammlern gehören bekannte Persönlichkeiten wie der ehemalige spanische Außenminister Abel Matutes, der Regisseur Roman Polanski, die Ex-ABBA-Sängerin Anni-Frid Lyngstad, der Modedesigner Valentino und der italienische Unternehmer Ronni Bonelli.

Im März 2004 präsentierte sie ihren Erstlingsroman "Frida - Beziehungskisten und andere Komplikationen" der Öffentlichkeit und erntete dafür allgemeines Wohlgefallen. Eine der wichtigsten Vorlesungen fand anläßlich der Leipziger Buchmesse und des Vorlese-Festivals "Leipzig liest" statt. Wegen ihres Erfolges wurden verschiedene Fernsehsender auf die junge Autorin aufmerksam und verfaßten mehrere Reportagen über sie, u.a. PRO7, Sat1 und OTV.

Zwei Jahre lang moderierte Sandra Marie Santayana das Programm "Das deutsche Inselfernsehen" des spanischen Fernsehsenders TEF. Sie spricht fließend 5 Sprachen: Deutsch, Italienisch, Spanisch, Englisch und Französisch. In ihrer Freizeit trainiert sie regelmäßig für Halbmarathon- und Marathon-Wettkämpfe. Beim "Marathon de Sta. Eulalia" 2002 traf sie als 5. Frau im Ziel ein.

Seit Anfang 2006 lebt sie in Rom.

Sandra Marie Santayana was born in Regensburg, Bavaria. She grew up in Schwandorf, where she also went to the college. Early she discovered her passion and her talent for arts and literary, engaging herself at school especially for these subjects and receiving various prizes for her work.

In 1999, Santayana decides to abandon her secure and stable life in Germany and moves to Spain, where she dedicates herself completely to art and literary and writes two novels in German. One of them has been published in Germany: "Frida - Beziehungskisten und andere Komplikationen" ("Frida - romances and other difficulties"). It can be ordered at Gardeur Verlag, ISBN 3-935852-18-5.

In Rome, in the Centro Culturale Europeo, she inaugurates the first exhibition of her paintings, titled "Ego" (autumn 2000), which becomes a big success. Even the famous newspaper "Il Corriere della Sera" calls her the new star in the world of art. Collectors are enchanted by the fact that 6 of her collages include a brush from the genius Salvador Dalí, and art critics praise her innovative style. Between her collectors are celebrities like the Spanish ex-canceller Abel Matutes, the regisseur Roman Polanski, the ex-ABBA-singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad and the designer Valentino.

In March 2004 she presents with big success her first novel "Frida" to the public. The most important lectures are held in Leipzig, on the occasion of the Book Fair and the festival "Leipzig liest". After this big success wellknown TV stations, such as PRO7 and OTV, contact her to make various reportages on her life.

For two years Sandra Marie Santayana works for the Spanish TV-station TEF, presenting the German-speaking program "Das deutsche Inselfernsehen". She speaks fluently 5 languages - German, Italian, Spanish, English and French. In her free time she trains for marathons and half-marathons.

Since 2006 she lives in Rome.

Sandra Marie Santayana nació en Regensburg, Baviera. Creció en Schwandorf, donde iba también a un colegio de bellas artes e idiomas. Muy pronto destacó en el arte pictórico y en la literatura, recibiendo varios premios durante sus anos escolares.

En 1999 Santayana decidió de abandonar su futuro seguro y “regular” en Alemania y de trasladarse en España, dedicándose completamente a la pintura y a la literatura. Allí escribe dos novelas en Alemán, de los cuales una está publicado en Alemania: “Frida – Beziehungskisten und andere Komplikationen”, Gardeur Verlag, ISBN 3-935852-18-5.

A Roma, en autumno 2000, inauguró su primera exposición de pinturas en solitario en el Centro Culturale Europeo, titulada “Ego”, que tenia un gran éxito. Hasta el famoso diario “Il Corriere della Sera” la menciona como la nueva estrella en el mundo del arte. Sobre todo el hecho de que en 6 de sus colages hay un pincel del genio pictórico Salvador Dalí encanta a los coleccionistas, y los críticos de arte aprecian el estilo renovador de Santayana.

También participa en varias exposiciones colectivas en España y al estero (como, por ejemplo, la Feria de Arte Moderna “Portoarte” en Portugal en 2003).

Entre sus coleccionistas se encuentran famosos como el ex-canciller Abel Matutes, el registra Roman Polanski, la cantante del grupo sueco ABBA Anni-Frid Lyngstad, el diseñado Valentino y el empresario italiano Ronni Bonelli.

En marzo 2004 Santayana presenta con mucho éxito su primera novela "Frida" en Alemania. Un de las presentaciones más importantes tiene lugar en Leipzig, donde se celebra la Feria del Libro y el Festival "Leipzig liest". Varias revistas y periódicos importantes hablan de su éxito y televisiones alemanas muy conocidas como PRO7, Sat1 y OTV documentan su camino hacia la fama.

Durante 2 años trabaja como presentadora de un programa cultural en la televisión española TEF. Habla perfectamente 5 idiomas: alemán, italiano, ingles, español y francés. En su tiempo libre entrena seriamente para maratones y semi-maratones. En el "Maratón de Sta. Eulalia" en 2002 quedó 5a en la categoría de las mujeres.

Li scrive due romanzi in tedesco, uno dei quali è stato pubblicato a Marzo 2004 in Germania: "Frida-Beziehungskisten und andere Komplikationen", Gardeur Verlag, ISBN 3-935852-18-5.

A Roma, nell’ autunno 2000, inaugura la sua prima esposizione di pittura in solitario nel Centro Culturale Europeo, intitolata "Ego" che ha un gran successo. Il "Corriere della Sera" la definisce "nuova stella nel mondo dell'arte". I collezionisti rimasero affascinati, sopratutto perché in sei dei suoi collage c'era un pennello del genio pittorico Salvatore Dalí, ed i critichi d’arte apprezzarono lo stile rinnovatore di Santayana.

A distanza di poco tempo Santayana presenta le esposizioni "Reflections", Centro Culturale Ebusus, Ibiza, 2001, "Vibrations" (Mo-bar) Ibiza, 2002, e "Paintings in love", Centro Culturale Ebusus, Ibiza, 2003, “Out of the Dark”, Klinik am Regenbogen, Nittenau, 2004 e “Kaleidoscope”, Café Galerie, Schwandorf, 2005. Partecipò anche a varie esposizioni collettive in Spagna ed all'estero, come, per esempio, la Fiera d’Arte Moderno "Portoarte" in Portogallo in 2003.

Tra i collezionisti dei suoi quadri ci sono personaggi illustri come l'ex-cancelliere Abel Matutes, il registra Roman Polanski, la cantante del gruppo svedese ABBA Anni-Frid Lyngstad, lo stilista Valentino o l'imprenditore Ronni Bonelli.

Nel marzo 2004 Santayana presenta, riscuotendo un gran successo, il suo primo romanzo "Frida" in Germania. Una delle presentazioni più importante avviene in Leipzig, dove si celebrava la Fiera del Libro ed il Festival "Leipzig liest". Varie riviste e giornali prestigiosi parlarono del suo successo e televisioni tedesche di grande importanza come PRO7, Sat1 e OTV documentano la sua scalata verso i picchi del successo.

Dall’incontro con la redattrice della televisione spagnola TEF nasce una collaborazione che porta la Santayana a presentare il programma "Das deutsche Inselfernsehen", trasmissione per tedeschi residenti in Spagna. Questo porta una gran popolarità alla giovane artista.

Avendo una perfetta padronanza dell’ inglese, del tedesco, dello spagnolo e dell’italiano traduce vari libri e romanzi.

La sua grande passione è lo sport e nel tempo libero si allena per le maratone e le semi-maratone. Nel 2002 partecipa alla "Maratona di Sta. Eulalia" e arriva 5° nella categoria donne.
